A limited edition means the artist or publisher has restricted the number of prints produced, with each numbered (e.g., 45/100 means print number 45 of 100 total). Once the edition is complete, no more can be legally produced, which helps maintain value and collectability.

 

How do I know what edition size is good?

Edition sizes vary amongst artists, from very limited runs of just 10 prints to larger editions reaching several thousand to meet public demand. Smaller editions (under 100) generally command higher prices and appreciation potential, but larger editions by established artists like Damien Hirst can still represent sound investments due to the artist's market strength and global demand.
